In 1875, traveling shoe salesmen and friends, William H. Stacy and Henry L. Adams decided to join forces to form their own company. The Stacy Adams Shoe Company was born. With the goal of offering fashion-forward styles and quality craftsmanship, the company has withstood everything from the invention of the automobile and the airplane to a twelve-year depression and two World Wars. We’ve welcomed in the age of jazz, rock, rap, and hip hop, and through it all that ideal has held strong. As we turn 150, we want to celebrate our legacy with you, our customers, the fashionable men who have always pushed us to stay one step ahead of the latest trend. Here’s to the next 150.

As we celebrate our 150th anniversary, we turn a spotlight on a shop that has been around nearly half that time and is now being run by the third generation of the Rosenblum family. Leo Rosenblum started the store 70 years ago. His son David began helping when he was 13 years old and is still running the shop 50 years later. The next generation, David’s daughter Samantha who began working here in high school, is now set to take over with her husband Evan Bell. Selling an average of 1,200 pairs of Stacy Adams shoes per year along with countless suits, shirts, hats and other Stacy accessories, this is the place fashionable men shop when in Philadelphia.

Customizing
A Classic

We gave four artists our most classic style, the Madison, and let them do their thing. And they did not disappoint. Using the iconic silhouette as their canvas, each artist added their own personal touch to the shoe.

A British multidisciplinary artist and content creator, Stella’s pieces explore sneaker culture, urban spaces and pop culture. Stella is influenced by miniature models, street scenes and street art; her ‘Sneaker Dioramas’ typically feature storytelling elements. You can find her documenting the process of each piece on her social media @shoesbystella. Stella’s design for the Madison Boot is solidly rooted in the brand's rich history, pulling inspiration from archival images and advertisements from the last 100 years.
